Consolidated Gold Mine

Consolidated was the largest hard-rock gold operation east of the Mississippi when it ran at the turn of the last century, and the 40-minute tour walks you more than twenty stories down through the original tunnels before handing you a pan. Gold panning instruction uses mine material; the gem flume buckets are a separate, enriched product, so know which line you are standing in.
