Crow Creek Mine
Crow Creek has been worked since 1896 and still runs as a family operation, with original buildings, antiques and rare mining equipment set among gardens, and creek access on the mine's own ground. Buy the panning option and they hand you a pan, shovel, bucket, vial and a packet of paydirt, show you the motion, and let you keep whatever color you pull out. It sits a few miles up Crow Creek Road from Girdwood, with the historic Iditarod Trail running through the property.
