This working ranch at 9274 Old US Highway 180 near Holbrook sits on the same Chinle Formation as Petrified Forest National Park, just outside the park boundary — but here the wood is legally yours to dig and keep, which it emphatically is not inside the park. The ground still turns out the saturated red-and-yellow rainbow wood the region is famous for, and you dig it yourself. Appointments only, so phone before you drive out.

| Fees | Pricing is not published anywhere on the operator's website. Call (928) 245-9010 for current rates and to book; it is a small family operation, so ask about accepted payment methods on the same call rather than assuming cards are taken. |
| Season & hours | By appointment only. The operator repeats 'BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, PLEASE CALL FIRST' throughout the site and posts no walk-in hours and no season, so phone (928) 245-9010 before you drive out. Effectively year-round in fair weather, but the ranch is not staffed for drop-ins. |
| Kids | Family-friendly — The family bills it as family fun and lets you set your own pace, from an hour to most of a day. Wood chips are sharp and the ground is uneven, so closed shoes and gloves matter. |
