Savahia Peak Rock Collecting Area

Savahia Peak is a designated BLM collecting area in a broad wash where botryoidal chalcedony — the bubbly white 'roses' collectors prize — lies loose on the surface. BLM's own description makes the point plainly: the bright white chalcedony is easy to spot against the darker soil. Take US-95 south from Needles about 35 miles to BLM Route NS660, Pyramid Peak Road, then about 2 miles in. Park well off the pavement and walk east through the wash, spreading out rather than working one spot.
