One of the largest working quartz operations in the Ouachitas and the easiest to visit on short notice - no booking required, about fifteen minutes from Hot Springs. The public dig is tailings across a hillside above Jessieville that the crew replenishes, and everything you pull out goes home at no extra charge. Bring a hand trowel, gloves and a five-gallon bucket, or buy them at the shop.
